Counter Balance

Counter Balance is more comfortable as it comes with seat and it also less restricted by road conditions. Two kinds of tires could be found in forklift, Pneumatic and Cushion tires. This forklift has higher speed of loading and travelling than other kinds of forklift. Axles, Wheels, counterweight, power sources and overhead guard are attached with the truck frame.

Reach truck (Raymond Reach) and Order picker:

Reach is based on rider stacker forklift and specially designed for narrow or small aisle. Its main function is the extension of forks which can reach to load. It is lighter than counter balance. Capacity rated with the forks extended and comes with solid tires. Order Picker is Counter balance type and very similar to narrow aisle truck is called order picker. Operator has to wear restrained system to save to get fall otherwise all function are similar to the narrow aisle process. All controls and operator stay in the cage welded to the mast.

Order picker:

While driving, operator could lift himself with the lift. So it is very convenient to pick up orders from any height of racks like bottom to top. While driving order picker you need to aware up about the fall protection as well.

Walkie or Pallet truck

Pallet trucks are also known as Walkie, single or double pallet jacks, Powered pallet jacks are motorised to lift heavy and stack pallets. It is Very light machine and small turning radius. Pallet trucks generally move by throttle on handle which helps to move forward backward and steering handle to the intended side.

Dock Stocker

Dock stocker is also known as stand-up counterbalance. Very suitable to get rough dock jobs done. Easy to operate with more visibility.

The full forklift course is for individuals interested in working as forklift operators, or requires forklift training. With theoretical in-class training combined with warehouse environment practical training Young Canadian Driving Academy provides consumers with complete forklift training. Our course covers:

Standard Operating Procedures: circle check, forwards/reverse on plain ground, startup and shut down, parking, safe operation

Essentials of Lift Trucks: elements of lift trucks, general rules and regulations, load centers,

Load Handling: selection of loads, load pickup and placement, load stability and integrity, loading and un-loading of trailers Safety procedures: accident awareness, dock safety and pedestrian attentiveness, identification of hazards

Experienced and knowledgeable instructors provide excellent in-depth preparation for the work force.

Forklift Recertification

Our recertification program is for individuals that have previous forklift training. It is designed to refresh individuals about standard forklift procedures and provide information about new procedures and regulations being used at the current time. Recertification is starting from $59.

Boom Lift

Boom lifts are ideal for outdoor construction and industrial application as these lifts are used for maintenance and construction of almost all types. It gives temporary access for working on heights and they are generally powered by diesel engine or electric. Boom lift are perfect for any job that requires one or two workers. Aerial lifts can be used in various ways according to the job. Uses include cleaning, painting, tree-trimming.

Courses Involved:

AZ Refresher

This program offers theoretical and practical training for individuals who already have their AZ licence to help improve driving skills. The refresher course is an affordable and quick option to gain valuable job skills and to become a safe driver.

Log Book Course

All truck drivers must complete daily log books. It is an essential skill to be able to accurately fill these books out. We will teach you which details and information is required from a log book through our various training packages.

Scissor Lift/Skyjack

Scissors lifts are needed for hard-to-reach areas at a height. Trainees must know how to use these devices properly and should know all operations of the scissor lift for safe operation. Scissor lifts have a railed platform which can be raised straight up. The primary purpose of this lift is to provide a highly mobile means reaching of areas that are very high. Scissor lifts are usually used at ceiling in large buildings (construction areas) or top of the storage racks.

Air Brake Classes

BRAKE COURSE (Z ENDORSEMENT) – 7 days a week

A Valid “Z” endorsement is required to operate any vehicle with Air brakes in province of Ontario. (Trucks, buses, RVs etc.) Air Brake is 12 hours program which include in-class instructions, practical training, Air brake knowledge test and practical test. Course will be conducted by authorized instructors and will introduce the knowledge and skill to drive vehicles with air brake system

REQUIREMENTS: G1 and G2 License holders are not eligible for this course. Candidate must have at least G Class license to apply for this course.

  • MTO road test (Vehicle supplied)
  • MTO 2nd road test (Vehicle supplied)
  • 4 hr. First Canadian Truck Training Center Computer Based Interactive Test Center
    • Preparation for MTO written test class “B”
  • 1 hr. personal progress consulting with training coordinator
  • Certificate of Completion at the Gold Level

DZ License

Straight Truck Training (DZ)

Class D licenses can be used to drive any truck or vehicle combination exceeding 11,000 kilograms, provided that the towed vehicle weighs is not over 4,600 kg. If the vehicle exceeds these limits then either a full Class A or restricted Class A license will be needed. DZ licenses can be used for vehicles such as straight trucks, dump trucks, and cement trucks with air brakes.

2. Package two- $750

10 lessons for truck training including

  • Pre-trip inspection
  • Road lesson and back-up lessons.
  • Truck available for one road test.

3. Package Three – $900

Air Brake Course and 8 lessons for truck training including

  • Pre-trip inspection
  • Road lesson and back-up lessons.
  • Truck available for one road test.

Individual lessons are also available. Road Test outside of GTA will Charge you $250 Extra.
